1. Information we collect
- Parent account information, such as an email address and authentication records.
- Subscription and access status, payment references and transaction status. Full card details are entered with PayFast and are not stored by Oatle Kids.
- Technical information needed for security and reliability, such as browser type, IP address and service logs.
- Preferences and activity progress stored on the device where applicable.
- Questions voluntarily submitted to the Oatle Kids AI assistant. Parents must not submit passwords, payment details or identifying information about a child.
2. Children’s privacy
Oatle Kids is purchased and managed by a parent or adult caregiver. We do not ask children to create accounts and do not intentionally collect children’s names, contact details or other identifying information. Parents should supervise use and contact us if they believe a child’s personal information was submitted.
3. How information is used
We use information to create and secure accounts, confirm subscription access, provide and improve activities, respond to support requests, prevent misuse, meet legal obligations and communicate essential service information.
4. Service providers
We use trusted providers to operate the service, including Supabase for account and access services, Vercel for website hosting, PayFast for payment processing and Cloudflare for the AI assistant. Each provider processes information for its service and under its own privacy and security obligations.
5. Legal grounds and sharing
Information is processed where needed to provide the service, comply with law, protect legitimate security interests or act with consent. We do not sell personal information. We share only what is necessary with service providers, regulators or law enforcement when legally required, or in connection with a lawful business transfer.
6. Storage and security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards and retain information only for as long as needed for service, legal, accounting and dispute purposes. No internet system can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct or delete personal information, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where relevant, or complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator. Email us from the account address so we can verify the request.
8. Cookies and local storage
Oatle Kids uses essential browser storage for login, security, installation, preferences and activity progress. Disabling essential storage may prevent the application from working correctly.
